Coastal Bloody Mary
January 1st is America’s National Bloody Mary Day, so when better to enjoy this brunch classic than on New Year’s Day? The mixologists at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay share their favorite recipe, which features a slightly salty-spicy kick and the garnish of your choice.
- 1 (4-ounce) package sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 (46-ounce) bottle vegetable juice (i.e. V-8)
- 32 ounces Clamato juice
- 1/2 cup horseradish
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 2 teaspoons beef base
- 1 1/2 cups vodka, chilled
Serve over ice in a celery-salt rimmed glass and garnish with a cooked, peeled shrimp and a fresh stalk of celery The perfect first course to any brunch!
