An Exploration of Modern Travel
This past spring, Harper's Bazaar and The Ritz-Carlton spent a London evening discussing the spirit of travel. A panel interview with travel experts including Trey Ratcliff, Chef Russell Norman and Deputy Editor of Esquire, Johnny Davis, provided new insights into a world of modern travel. Following the panel interview, visitors participated in masterclasses, food demonstrations by culinary experts and sensory displays of craftsmanship from Ritz-Carlton Ladies and Gentlemen around the world.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto led a sampling of Sake wine, a live sushi demonstration, and traditional kimonos presented by models.
Dove Mountain, ARIZONA
The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, served up two locally-inspired margaritas and avocado fries. Joining guests from Tuscon, Arizona, the resort's resident flautist provided a backdrop to a spirit-ranger, as he recited local tales and fables that guests at the resort hear each evening as the sun sets over the Tortolita Mountains.
The Sonoran Margarita
1.5 oz. Maestro Dobel Tequila
.5 oz Cointreau
3 oz. Lime Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
Garnish: 5 sprigs cilantro and 1/4 of a jalapeno muddled and seedless.
This drink is shaken and strained over ice.
The Prickly Pear Margarita
3 oz house made lemon and lime sour mix
1 oz prickly pear syrup
1.5 oz tequila
1 oz simple syrup
Hotel Arts Barcelona brought along a selection of tapas and wines. The hotel's resident florist showed guests how to craft beautiful flower arrangements in water.
